Help with Posting

  1. Register on this site. Your email address must be able to receive the confirmation email.
  2. Log In to EtownWeb.net
  3. Click Posts in the upper left side of your admin area after you log in.
  4. Click Add New
  5. Give your Post a Title like Yard Sale in Elizabethtown etc.
  6. In the body area you have a tool bar similar to other editing tools. Place your Mouse over the icons if you do not know what they do. Note: if you like Visual editing make sure you click on the tab (top right) that says Visual. Then click your Show / Hide Kitchen Sink icon to see more options in your tool bar if not already displaying.
  7. If you want to insert a Map to your Event, Yard Sale etc instructions are at the bottom of this basic instruction.
  8. Optionally decide if you want people to be able to Comment on your Post. You can leave Trackbacks and Pingbacks checked.
  9. If your Post Expires on a certain date you can select that as well.
  10. Fill out your Title, Description and Keywords if you want to Optimize your Post for search engines.
  11. Next, select a Category and or Location on the Right side of your Post area. You can select more than one category or location if it applies.
  12. Last, click the Blue Button that either says Publish or Submit for Review. This will vary depending on your access level.

To insert a Map:

  1. Leave the Map Size selected at Medium.
  2. Enter the address of your event etc. to the Add Locations block. If you have multiple locations you can add additional Map Points. A balloon will appear on the Map that you can edit by adding more details.
  3. Place your cursor in your Post where you want your Map to appear. This should be on its own separate line, usually below your text.
  4. Click the button that says Insert map shortcode in post.
  5. Click Publish or Submit for Review as stated in above and you’re done!
